The buzz on Twitter quickly centered on British actress Daisy Edgar-Jones, currently starring in “Normal People.”
One fanraved, “Petition for Daisy Edgar-Jones to play as Kate Middleton in The Crown!”
When asked if she knew about the online support, the actress was genuinely shocked.
“Oh, my gosh, that’s the first I’ve heard of that,” she said.
“That’s cool.”
She added that she “wouldn’t say no” if the part were offered to her.
Then Al Roker joked, “Would it help if Andrew wore kind of a baldish wig?”
Edgar-Jones certainly fits the bill on one count.
