Smith then slapped Rock hard across the face, leaving attendees and viewers stunned.
Smith immediately went back to his seat, but the altercation wasn’t over.
The confrontation came after Jada has opened up about her hair loss over the last few years.
Now, Smith’s mother is speaking out about the incident.
“I know how he works, how hard he works…
I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting.
When I heard the name, I was just, ‘Yes!'”
The proud mother said.
“He is a very even, people person.
That’s the first time I’ve ever seen him go off.
First time in his lifetime…
I’ve never seen him do that,” she confessed.
Meanwhile, Will’s mother isn’t letting anything bring down the positivity of her son’s big win.
“I am proud of him being him,” she simply said of the incident.
