“About 10 minutes later, the news broke that Taylor had died.”
Fans also placed candles and flowers outside the hotel where the drummer had died, perET Online.
“The Foo Fighters family is devastatedby the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins.

For Hawkins, his anxiety manifested in massive stage fright, despite his talent and the band’s success.
From his stage presence, you couldn’t tell Hawkins was petrified to be up there.
A lot of this came from his chemistry with Dave Grohl.

But just because it looked effortless, doesn’t mean it was.
In his final interview withRolling Stone, Hawkins admitted to having stage fright.
“I have major stage fright, major, major, major,” he explained.

For him, it felt like, “everything in my body is wrong.
My leg doesn’t feel right … like all these kind of crazy psychosis kind of things.”
He also mentioned this was how he was feeling even just for “a little club show.”

You see what I do.
Yeah, for good results, yeah.”
It’s hard to imagine what Hawkins would’ve been feeling about playing in a major festival.
Since Hawkins' death was announced, questions have been asked about whether this could be another overdose.
His overdose also made him reflect on his relationship with drugs.
In a 2021 interview withKerrang!, Hawkins explained how the overdose affected his relationship with drugs.
“…I just got out of control for a while and it almost got me.”
